GIVE US YOUR BEST SHOT!
The Institue Calendar, “Local Views by Local People” has become a firm favourite, with copies being sent to all corners of the globe ... and even Lancashire!
Thanks to this demand, we will once again be running a Photo Competition for our Institute Calendar 2012.
Thank you again to all those who entered photos for our Village Institute Calendar competition this year. For those who were not successful, perhaps these tips may give you a better chance this year.
Please try to feature new locations. Many entries were very similar to ones previously published.
Please avoid showing unsightly power lines, wheelie bins etc.
All entries must be of recognisable views within Kildwick or Farnhill.
If trees are a feature of your entry, please try to show the full height of the tree(s).
For street scenes, please avoid showing too much tarmac.
The published calendar pictures are almost square in format, so please bear this in mind to avoid excessive cropping which could spoil the balance of your view.
All entries must be in full colour.
Although it is always tempting to submit snowy views, particularly after this winter, we look forward to using atmospheric rainy or foggy shots for a change!
Sunsets and sunrises are picturesque, but unless they are shown in a village context, they could be taken anywhere.
There are still lots of locations in Kildwick and Farnhill worthy of being photographed, and we look forward to seeing your new entries!
A MAXIMUM OF THREE ENTRIES PER PERSON,TO BE SENT IN MEDIUM TO HIGH RESOLUTION TO:
Paul Haywood, 3 High Croft Way, Farnhill, BD20 9AP
or by email (in high resolution) to:
paul.g.haywood@mac.com
Deadline: 31 July 2011.
Good Luck!
